Indonesian president meets Russian security chief

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto met with Sergei Shoigu, secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council, in Jakarta on Tuesday to discuss strategic issues related to bilateral relations and regional security.

According to a press release from Indonesia's Presidential Secretariat Office, the visit reaffirmed the two countries' commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership, particularly in security and defense, while also opening up broader opportunities for future cooperation.

"This moment further solidifies the close relationship between the two countries in fostering regional stability and mutually beneficial strategic cooperation," the press release said.

On Feb 3, Indonesia and Russia celebrated the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
