HONG KONG - Former Legislative Council member of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Lam Cheuk-ting and six others were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 25 to 37 months on Thursday for their involvement in a riot in 2019.
The cases were adjudicated at the HKSAR District Court.
The seven defendants participated in a riot at Yuen Long MTR station in Hong Kong on July 21, 2019. They were found guilty of rioting in December 2024 and were remanded until Feb 27 for sentencing.

Among the defendants, Lam Cheuk-ting was sentenced to 37 months, Yu Ka-ho to 31 months, Chan Wing-hei to 31 months, Kwong Ho-lam to 31 months, Yeung Long to 31 months, Wan Chung-ming to 28 months, and Yip Kam-sing to 25 months.
Lam was previously sentenced to 81 months in prison for a separate charge of conspiracy to subvert state power.
