CAIRO - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a series of bilateral meetings Monday in Cairo with his visiting counterparts from Palestine, Jordan, Tunisia, Bahrain, Mauritania, Yemen, and Iraq ahead of an emergency Arab Summit on Gaza, scheduled for Tuesday in Egypt's New Administrative Capital.

The meetings focused on solidifying a unified Arab stance against any attempts to displace Palestinians from their homeland, and prioritizing the swift reconstruction of the war-torn Gaza Strip, according to statements released by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

The discussions underscored the importance of implementing the ceasefire agreement in its three phases, including the delivery of humanitarian aid and the immediate launch of early recovery efforts, such as rubble removal and infrastructure rebuilding, while ensuring Palestinians remain within Gaza.

Arab foreign ministers stressed the necessity of concerted regional and international action to guarantee the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement.

They underscored that this is a critical first step towards achieving a lasting and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, based on the two-state solution that would lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, within the 1967 borders.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Cairo earlier in the day to participate in the summit, which is expected to witness the presentation of Egypt's comprehensive plan for the reconstruction of Gaza.
