Afghan interim govt leader calls for engagement with world community

KABUL - The supreme leader of the Afghan interim government, Hibatullah Akhundzada, has called for establishing positive engagement based on mutual interests with the international community.

"We seek to have good and beneficial relations with other countries based on Islamic principles," Akhundzada said in his message to congratulate the coming Eid al-Fitr.

Akhundaza also urged all sides to respect Afghanistan, refrain from interference, and avoid obstructing the country's stability and progress, according to a message posted on the X account of the administration's chief spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid on Thursday.
