Chinese premier sends congratulations to new Tunisian PM

BEIJING - Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Thursday congratulated Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri on her taking office as prime minister of the Republic of Tunisia.

In his message, Li said that China and Tunisia enjoy a profound traditional friendship. He said bilateral relations had developed steadily and positively under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Tunisian President Kais Saied.

In May 2024, the two heads of state held productive discussions in Beijing, where they jointly announced the establishment of a China-Tunisia strategic partnership, opening a new chapter in bilateral relations.

Li noted that he is ready to work with the Tunisian prime minister to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and promote the steady and long-term development of the China-Tunisia strategic partnership.
