BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed mixed on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.26 percent to 3,276.00 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.85 percent lower at 9,774.73 points.

The combined turnover of these two indices stood at about 1.11 trillion yuan (about $153.9 billion), up from 1.08 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.

Shares related to precious metal and tourism sectors were among the biggest gainers while shares related to power supply facilities and veterinary vaccines emerged as the biggest losers.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.21 percent to close at 1,907.11 points.
