Sichuan forward Zhu awarded CBA Rising Star of the Month

BEIJING - Sichuan Blue Whales small forward Zhu Songwei was named the first Rising Star of the Month of the 2020-21 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season on Monday.

The fourth draft pick Zhu averaged 12.4 points, 2.4 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals in the CBA's first phase matches, scoring a career-high 20 points against the Shanghai Sharks on Oct. 22.

With a win-loss record of 5-6, Sichuan ranks 10th among 19 sides after the first phase. The league's second stage is scheduled to kick off on Dec 2.
