MOSCOW - Russian troops have taken control of the village of Basovka in Ukraine's Sumy region during the ongoing offensive operations, the Russian Defense Ministry announced on its Telegram channel on Sunday.
In addition to capturing Basovka, Russian forces reportedly struck Ukrainian mechanized, tank and airborne assault brigades, as well as a territorial defense unit, in the vicinity of Gornal, Guevo and Oleshnya in the Kursk region.

The ministry said the operations, partially supported by artillery, targeted Ukrainian personnel and military equipment in multiple locations, including Gornal, Guevo and Oleshnya in the Kursk region, as well as Basovka and other settlements in the Sumy region.
According to the ministry, Russian troops destroyed two armored fighting vehicles, 12 vehicles, three drone command posts and an ammunition depot in the operations.
