CFA Cup: Wuhan defeat Taizhou, Beijing beat Chengdu

CHANGZHOU - Wuhan Zall claimed a 2-0 victory over Taizhou Yuanda while Beijing Guoan beat Chengdu Better City 1-0 in the Chinese Football Association (CFA) Cup here on Saturday.

Wuhan scored first in the 24th minute with a goal from Yao Hanlin, and sealed the win in the 92nd minute when Taizhou's Wang Dalong scored an own goal 

Wuhan scored first in the 24th minute after they stole the ball and launched a rapid counter-attack from midfield, giving Yao Hanlin enough space to slot into the net.

Taizhou had their best chance before the half-timewhen they knocked a free kick into the box and finished with a powerful volley, but was denied by Wuhan goalkeeper Dong Chunyu.

Wuhan sealed the win in the 92nd minute when Taizhou's Wang Dalong scored an own goal after his teammate Liu Junpeng turned the ball over while making a clearance in the box.

In the other game, Beijing controlled the rhythm throughout the whole game after scoring early in the eighth minute.

Beijing's Bai Yunfei collected a long-range pass from midfield into the box and successfully tricked the Chengdu goalkeeper, which earned a chance for his teammate Xie Yunfei who followed up and made a volley.
