S. Korean striker Kim signs with HK Premier League side Kitchee

HONG KONG - Hong Kong Premier League side Kitchee announced on Thursday that the club has reached an agreement with Kim Shin-wook.

Standing 1.97m tall, Kim signed a contract until 2026 and will wear jersey No 33.

The 34-year-old striker had previous stints at Ulsan Hyundai and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, winning K League 1 championship twice. He was also influential in both teams' AFC Champions League success, in 2012 and 2016 respectively.

Before joining Kitchee, Kim had played for Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua and Lion City Sailors from Singapore. His last season with Lion City Sailors saw him bag 21 goals from 26 appearances in Singapore Premier League.

Since his debut in 2010, Kim has represented South Korea on 56 occasions, scoring 16 goals and lifting the EAFF E-1 Football Championship title in 2015 and 2017.

Sources in South Korea said Kim will get the highest salary in the HK Premier League history.
