BEIJING - The Beijing Royal Fighters defeated the Shanxi Loongs 99-94 in the 2022-2023 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Thursday.
Yuan Shuai scored the first points of the game for Shanxi, with Zhang Chunjun and Kay Felder joining the offensive. Although Liu Xiaoyu and Yu Changdong made their three-pointers for Beijing, Shanxi still led the first quarter 27-19.
Ge Zhaobao spearheaded a 7-0 run for Shanxi to widen the gap to 15 points in the second quarter. After Beijing answered with a flurry of shots, Shanxi led 54-47 into the second half.
Zhang and Felder led their Shanxi peers for a fearsome 10-0 run in the third quarter, but suddenly lost their grip on the game as Robert Golden made his 3-pointers to help Beijing cut the deficit to five into the last quarter.

Beijing took the lead with four minutes left. Although Shanxi managed to tie at 92-92, Beijing became the eventual winner of the game.
Meanwhile, Sun Minghui and Zhao Jiaren helped the Zhejiang Lions to win over the Nanjing Monkey Kings 110-102.
