HARBIN - Kazakhstan maintained its undefeated record in women's ice hockey after beating South Korea 1-0 in overtime at the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games on Sunday. Both teams have secured their spots in the medal round by finishing top two in Group B.
Despite a total of 34 shots on goal, neither team broke the deadlock in regular time. The decisive moment came early in overtime when forward Alexandra Shegay finally scored to seal Kazakhstan's victory.
Kazakhstan and South Korea will join Group A top-ranked teams China and Japan, who just finished the Olympic qualification tournament, to battle for podium positions.
Another women's match on Sunday saw Chinese Taipei defeat Hong Kong, China 6-1.
On the men's side, Kuwait cruised past Bahrain 34-0, Kyrgyzstan dominated Singapore 11-2, India beat Macao, China 4-2, and Hong Kong, China defeated Turkmenistan 5-1. Three Turkmenistan players were penalized for post-match fighting.
