BEIJING – China's average life expectancy reached 79 years in 2024, a health official said on Sunday.
More than 90 percent of village clinics in the country have their services covered by basic medical insurance, officials said during a press conference organized by the 14th National People's Congress on people's livelihood in the Chinese capital, Beijing.
Speaking on the country’s health situation, another official said China's employment has got off to a good start this year, as indicated by the situation in the first two months of this year.

China will roll out a new round of policies this year to support the employment of young people, including college graduates, added the official.
China will use big data and on-the-spot investigation to identify people in difficulties and ensure they receive assistance in a timely manner, Minister of Civil Affairs Lu Zhiyuan said at the press conference.

China will resolutely restore stability in the real estate market, with efforts to provide strong financing support for eligible housing projects and ensure timely delivery of homes to buyers, Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Ni Hong said during the press conference.
