Shenzhen will set up "no security check" channels between Shenzhen North Railway Station and the connected metro lines under a transport optimization plan, reports Shenzhen Special Zone Daily.
Currently, railway passengers need to go through security checks while entering metro stations, even though they have already been screened before boarding the trains.
To streamline the transit experience for railway passengers, new "no security check" escalators and staircases will be installed, connecting the railway station directly to Metro Lines 5. The “no security check” channels for Metro Line 4 and 6, already implemented on holidays to cope with peak traffic, will be set aside permanently.

The peak daily passenger flow between Shenzhen North and Metro Line 5 reaches 210,000 trips, while the flow between Shenzhen North and Lines 4 and 6 is 134,000.
However, the implementation has been restricted due to limited space at Shenzhen North station, which is currently operating at twice its designed capacity.
The Shenzhen municipal government's transport department is coordinating with public security, metro, and railway operators to carry out the improvement project as soon as possible.
