A Persian art exhibition showcasing 151 treasures from Iran will run until June 17 at the Guangdong Museum in Guangzhou.
The exhibition, titled “Land of the Sun — Treasures of Iranian Culture and Art,” includes ceramics, metalware, glassware, Persian silk, Persian carpets, and miniature paintings, all on loan from five Iranian museums and galleries. Dating back as far as 3,000 BC, these relics highlight the inclusiveness, exquisite craftsmanship, and unique aesthetics of Persian art, influenced by ancient Egypt, the Mesopotamian region, Greece, India, and China.
The exhibition is divided into three sections: Dancing Landscapes, Mirror of Artistry, and Confluence of Civilizations. Visitors interested in cultural exchange will find the Confluence of Civilizations section particularly engaging, as it features exhibits that illustrate how images of Persian flora and fauna were introduced to China, while Chinese porcelain and silk were incorporated into Persian artifacts.
