HONG KONG - A program briefing of the Chinese Culture Festival (CCF) 2025 was held on Monday, showcasing a preview of captivating performances slated for this year’s cultural feast.
Running from June to September, the CCF will feature an array of remarkable activities, such as finely selected Chinese opera, exhibitions and lectures on tea culture, and many more.
Veteran Cantonese opera artists Yuen Siu-fai, Lee Lung, and Wan Fai-yin, alongside rising star Tam Wing-lun, shared the stage during the program briefing to introduce the Cantonese opera performance for the "Chinese Opera Festival 2025", a key highlight of the CCF. Young virtuosos on sanxian (a three-stringed Chinese lute) impressed the audience by demonstrating their musical talent.
Monday's event was also joined by Ivy Ngai Suk-yee, chief manager (cultural presentations) of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), as well as Cheng Pei-kai and Anne Lam, former curators of the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware.
In 2024, the Chinese Culture Promotion Office of the LCSD launched the festival to promote traditional culture and enhance the public’s national identity and cultural confidence.
