Media tour for a glimpse of Greater Bay Area’s growth
By Li Lei in Hong Kong

Journalists from across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area gathered in Shenzhen on Wednesday at the start of a weeklong get-to-know tour of developments in the 11-city cluster region.

The journey brings together more than 100 representatives of nearly 30 media outlets on the Chinese mainland, and in Hong Kong and Macao in exploring the region’s groundbreaking developments and future vision.

Aimed at facilitating in-depth reporting on the Greater Bay Area’s rapid progress, the tour began with a meeting at the Shenzhen Municipal Qianhai Administration Bureau, which oversees the development of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone.

The event also coincides with the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Qianhai cooperation zone this year.

In the afternoon, the journalists will visit artificial intelligence startup EngineAI, as well as two leading incubators - the Shenzhen Modeli Camp AI Ecological Community and Shenzhen Innox – showcasing the region’s thriving technological ecosystem.

The tour serves as a dynamic platform that unites government officials, corporate leaders and research institutions in demonstrating the region’s economic vitality.

Through themed interviews focusing on AI, financial technology and green energy, the event highlights the region’s drive toward integrated, sustainable growth.

This year also marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone.
