China is in pursuit of what is called Chinese modernization, a distinct, well-thought-out way to build a stronger country and advance national rejuvenation in the new era. Many high-level meetings have stressed that in this endeavor, the process of new industrialization and infrastructure upgrade will have to play critical roles, given that China needs to overcome challenges like the impact of climate change and uneven development across various regions of the country.
