HONG KONG - The Chinese Culture Festival has chosen the esteemed dance drama "Five Stars Rising in the East", to be performed by the Beijing Dance Drama and Opera, as its inaugural performance in Hong Kong's Sha Tin Town Hall.

The dance drama is inspired by a piece of Han dynasty brocade armguard unearthed from the ancient Niya cultural relics site in China's Xinjiang. It narrates the story of General Feng, who served during the Han Dynasty and was stationed at the Western border.

Spanning from June to September, the CCF aims to enhance the public's appreciation of Chinese culture and cultivate national identity and cultural confidence.

The event will showcase a vibrant range of programs, featuring collaborations with numerous local arts and cultural organizations.
