High-speed train to Beijing & Shanghai, e-commerce fest, Huawei Developer Conference

HONG KONG – Starting Saturday, high-speed sleeper trains will run from Hong Kong to Beijing and Shanghai every Friday through Monday, enabling passengers to travel between the cities overnight.

The journey to Beijing will take 12 hours and 34 minutes, while that to Shanghai 11 hours and 14 minutes.

The new high-speed overnight rail service will operate 16 trains per week, each accommodating over 600 passengers to Beijing and Shanghai – a substantial boost in capacity compared to the previous standard through-trains.

Passengers will also enjoy a simplified clearance process at Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Station. Tickets for the high-speed sleeper trains have been on sale since June 5. Sleeper berths on the first day of operation are already fully booked.

Meeting of e-commerce giants

The Seventh Global Cross-border E-commerce Festival and the Ninth Shenzhen International Cross-border E-commerce Trade Expo will be held from June 15 to 17, featuring around 4000 cross-border e-commerce exhibitors, including e-commerce platforms, sellers and manufacturers.

The expo will blend Eastern elements to feature the brand cultures of domestic and international companies, showcasing their new advancement in technology, imported food and daily necessities, payment services and more  in an expanded 100,000 square meters venue.

Huawei Developer Conference 2024

The Huawei Developer Conference 2024 will be held near the Songshan Lake of Dongguan, Guangdong, set for June 21-23, will discuss how its self-designed mobile phone operating system HarmonyOS, Pangu models, Ascend AI Cloud Service, and cloud database GaussDB are shaping the business landscape of an intelligent future.

As a step closer to realizing its goal of developing its own ecosystem of hardware, software, services and applications, Huawei will launch the fifth generation of its Pangu large AI model at the event. HarmonyOS NEXT will be unveiled at the conference as well.
