CSL: Beijing defeat Shandong, Chengdu trounce Cangzhou

BEIJING - Beijing Guoan clinched a 2-0 home win over Shandong Taishan, while Chengdu Rongcheng seized a 4-0 victory against Cangzhou Mighty Lions in the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Sunday.

Samuel Adegbenro and Fabio Abreu scored respectively in quick succession to help Beijing establish a 2-0 lead after just five minutes. Shandong tried to strengthen their offense in the rest of the match but failed to turn things around.

Elsewhere, Shanghai Shenhua edged Qingdao West Coast 1-0, Changchun Yatai crushed Qingdao Hainiu 5-0, and Henan FC eased past Meizhou Hakka 3-0

"We know Shandong is a very tough team, so we wanted to make a strong start, and we made that happen. We also did a good job defensively to seal the win," Beijing Guoan head coach Ricardo Soares said after the game.

Chengdu also scored early, with Gan Chao unleashing a long-distance effort in the sixth minute, while Manuel Palacios added another by the end of the first half.

Hu Hetao and Romulo Jose combined for two goals in the second half to seal a dominant win.
