A botanical art exhibition showcasing the beauty and fragility of rare Chinese plant species has made its debut at the Terminal 2 art gallery of Baiyun International Airport, according to the airport's official WeChat account.

The exhibition, titled "Everlasting Elegance" (芳华永恒 --南北国家植物园珍奇植物科学画展), features the works of four Chinese botanical artists: Liu Yunxiao, Yu Feng, Deng Yingfeng and Li Aili.

The exquisite artworks capture the intricate details and vibrant essence of some of China's most endangered plant life.

The collaborative effort between the Guangdong Museum of Art, South China Botanical Garden, China National Botanical Garden, and local tourism and airport authorities aims to bring the wonders of botanical art into the public sphere, raising awareness about the need for plant conservation.

Botanical art is a time-honored genre that combines scientific precision with artistic expression. With a rich tradition dating back centuries, this genre has been practiced by artists, scientists, and naturalists alike.

It is estimated that around 3,767 species of wild plants in China are currently endangered or critically endangered. Through the vivid depictions of their flowers, fruits, and other botanical elements, the artists hope to immortalize these precious life forms and inspire meaningful action to protect them.
