HONG KONG - This summer a total of 30 Hong Kong youngsters had participated in a nine-day training camp to learn more about the nation's development and achivement in aerospace and space science.

Running from July 26 to Aug 3, the Young Astronaut Training Camp 2024 had taken the shortlisted secondary students to the nation's major astronomy and aerospace facilities, including the Beijing Aerospace City and the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. They had attended lectures on space science and aerospace technology and had the opportunity to meet aerospace experts and astronauts.

They were also arranged to visit the nation's most-advanced rocket launch facility Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site, the Wenchang Aerospace Science Center and the Wenchang Aerospace Supercomputing Center for the first time.

Jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in association with the Beijing-Hong Kong Academic Exchange Centre, the training camp is one of the activities in the Chinese Culture Promotion Series organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
