The Community Chest “Meet with the Giant Pandas”, fully supported by Bank of China (Hong Kong) (BOCHK), was successfully held on 30 November 2024. With Ocean Park’s arrangements, the event saw the participation of nearly 500 generous donors and beneficiaries who are the first to meet the two giant pandas gifted to Hong Kong by the central government.

After the visit, BOCHK volunteers present the panda stuffed toys to beneficiary families as souvenirs.

The Chest is deeply grateful for the full support given by BOCHK. Thanks to the bank’s generous sponsorship, donation raised from the event will go towards supporting social services by the Chest’s member agencies, without any deduction of administrative expenses.

To make the charity day more meaningful, the Chest invited 120 underprivileged family members from two member agencies, Hong Kong Single Parents Association and Hong Kong Family Welfare Society, to join the charity day. In addition, more than 20 volunteers from BOCHK accompanied the beneficiary families to meet with the giant pandas and visit other attractions related to nature conservation.

After the visit, the volunteers presented the panda stuffed toys to beneficiary families as souvenirs, sparing no effort in their commitment to charitable services. Beneficiary families expressed their joy and excitement of meeting the pandas and exploring Ocean Park’s attractions.

The Chest would like to express deep appreciation to all the donors and supporters.
