HONG KONG – The God of Fortune came to the town on Friday to launch a decorative installation for the Chinese New Year and spread joy to welcome the Year of the Snake.

Themed "Lions Roar, Blessings Pour", the festive decoration features a 28-meter-long corridor of 18 colorful lions and 13 traditional Chinese drums.

To be on display from Jan 11 to Feb 16, the decoration was inspired by bright hues and the Chinese lucky number "8", in hopes of bringing wealth and prosperity to everyone.

The installation is part of celebratory events across Hong Kong for the Spring Festival, which falls on Jan 29 this year.
