HONG KONG - A chartered flight bringing back 249 Hong Kong residents stranded in India landed in Hong Kong International Airport at 6.30 am Monday.
It departed from New Delhi around 11 pm on May 17 local time (1.30 am on May 18 Hong Kong time).
After undergoing compulsory COVID-19 testing, the residents were transferred by coaches to Chun Yeung Estate to observe a 14-day mandatory quarantine
The passengers include seven children under two years of age.

Upon arrival, the returnees proceeded to the Department of Health's Temporary Specimen Collection Centre at AsiaWorld-Expo by coaches for compulsory COVID-19 testing.
After their deep throat saliva samples were collected, they were transferred by coaches to Chun Yeung Estate, Fo Tan, to observe a 14-day compulsory quarantine.
The cost for taking the chartered flight is borne by the passengers with each paying around HK$3,800, except for children who did not occupy a seat.
