China national shotgun team to resume preparation for Olympics

BEIJING - The Chinese national shotgun team will assemble on Sunday for a training camp in Putian, Fujian province to prepare for the Tokyo Olympic Games.

The national team members returned to their respective provincial teams on April 26 after five months of training in Putian. The team will start training from May 24 in the same stadium in preparation for Tokyo 2020, the Sport Shooting Management Center of China's General Administration of Sport announced in a notice on Thursday.

The notice also required athletes to take their temperature before joining the training camp and stressed that necessary measures will be taken to prevent the COVID-19 virus.

China has so far obtained five of the ten full Tokyo berths in the shotgun event, two each in women's trap and skeet and one in men's trap.
