NEW DELHI - India's international cricket star and two-time world cup winning former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni Saturday announced his retirement from the game.
Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket through a social media post.
The 39-year-old Indin cricketer thus brought the curtain down on his illustrious 15-year career
"Thanks a lot for your love and support throughout. From 1929 hrs (local time) consider me as retired," Dhoni wrote on his Instagram account, accompanied by a post of a montage capturing his career with the Indian team.

He led India to the 2007 World Twenty20 title, the 2011 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy.
Dhoni, who had announced his retirement from Tests in 2014, has played 350 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 98 T20s.
In 350 ODIs, Dhoni has scored 10,773 runs. He has 10 centuries and 73 fifties to his name.

Meanwhile, another Indian cricketer Suresh Raina also announced his retirement from international cricket, minutes after Dhoni's announcement.
"It was nothing but lovely playing with you, @mahi7781 (M S Dhoni). With my heart full of pride, I choose to join you in this journey. Thank you India," Raina posted on his Instagram page.
