Over 50,000 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) exam candidates received their marksheets on Wednesday, as the results of the city’s university entrance exam were released, producing four top scorers from three different schools.

Total 42,391 school candidates and 6,371 private candidates sat the HKDSE this year. The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority on Tuesday said 42.4 percent of day school candidates, or 17,450 students, met the general entrance requirements for local undergraduate degree programs, a rate comparable to last year.
