Around 2,800 pieces of modern China relics, including pottery, porcelains, and metalware, have been unearthed at an excavation site in the southern China city of Guangzhou.

The "Xiaoma Station - Liushuijing Ancient City Site" in Guangdong province, stretching more than 2,000 square kilometers, has been undergoing excavations since January 2024.

Archaeologists and researchers have dug up to nine meters and found a batch of relics, such as architectural components and defense tools, which date back to the Han Dynasty and its later periods.

China Daily's Parker Zheng took the photos on Friday.
