Shenzhen's highly anticipated Huafa Ice and Snow World (华发冰雪世界), billed as the world's largest indoor skiing center, is set to open to the public by the end of this year.

Located in the city's Qianhai area, the 100,000-square-meter facility will feature cutting-edge snow simulation technology and offer a variety of ski runs catering to different skill levels.

The complex will boast five ski runs, the longest one stretching 450 meters, as well as an 83-meter-high ski jump.

Notably, the ice and snow world will also feature a 33-meter-deep "hanging ice waterfall", which will function as a diving facility.

According to the China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co, the main structure of the skiing center has been topped out and the project is currently in the fitting and finishing stage.

Construction of complementary facilities, including a JW Marriott hotel, is at 50 percent completion.

To help visitors of the facility, a walkway has been planned to connect the ice and snow world to the nearby Metro Line 20, which is currently under construction.

The ice and snow world is strategically located adjacent to the Shenzhen World Convention and Exhibition Center (深圳国际会展中心) and Shenzhen Waterlands (深圳海上田园) as a hub for Qianhai’s business travel, leisure and tourism sector.

The state-of-the-art indoor skiing center is poised to become a major attraction in Shenzhen, offering year-round winter sports and leisure experiences in a tropical climate.
