HONG KONG – HSBC will hold the Global Investment Summit 2025 in Hong Kong from Mar 25 to 27.

Themed “New Networks Connecting the Global Economy”, the summit will explore the role of investment in China’s economic future and China’s role in the global economy. One highlight will be China’s advances in EV technology and its impact on the global market, as the output of new energy vehicles in China passed 13 million units last year.

Speakers will also delve into cutting-edge business topics, including new technology, financing new energy, and tariffs.

Rugby Sevens debut at Kai Tak

The Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament — one of the city’s biggest sporting events — is all set to kick off on Mar 28. The three-day tournament draws 30 top-tier teams. The cup finals will take place on the evening of Mar 30.

As the first mega event at the new 50,000-seater Kai Tak Stadium, this year’s event has been upgraded with cutting-edge technology and expanded capacity, promising an enhanced experience for all attendees.

Following a grand opening ceremony with lion dances and a laser mapping show, local Cantopop stars RubberBand, Italian icon GALA, British band Kaiser Chiefs, and legendary DJ Pete Tong will perform there.

A wide array of offerings, including over 30 food and drink outlets featuring one of Asia's longest bars, VIP hospitality options, a fully retractable roof and an advanced in-stadium cooling system, await spectators.

Connecting financial elites

The Wealth for Good in Hong Kong (WGHK) Summit – a flagship event for global leaders in family office finance and philanthropy – is set to be held on Mar 26.

The summit will provide a platform for global elites to network, sharing insights on topics including technology, artificial intelligence, and philanthropy.

Amid global uncertainty and escalating trade tensions, it will also underscore Hong Kong’s crucial role as a “super-connector” and a “super value-adder” between the Chinese mainland and the world.

Hong Kong’s Wealth and Investment Mega Event Week will also start with WGHK at the end of March, reinforcing the city’s status as a leading international financial center for investors and entrepreneurs from all over the world.

Manufacturing expo

The Shenzhen International Industrial Manufacturing Technology and Equipment Exhibition will make its annual return to the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center from Mar 26 to 29.

This year’s event will showcase 2,032 sets of advanced equipment, covering a wide range of sectors such as metal cutting and forming machine tools, robotics and automation equipment, medical industrial supplies, and Shenzhen’s electronics and intelligent manufacturing, and fasteners.

More than 60 summits will be held during the exhibition, offering attendees opportunities to explore new business prospects.
