People in various quirky costumes grabbed their paddles and rowed with laughter at a fancy dress dragon boat contest off the Tsim Sha Tsui East Promenade on Sunday.

As part of this year’s Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races, the special contest attracted scores of participants from different walks of life, carrying on the celebratory mood of the Dragon Boat Festival.

The standard dragon boat 500m races in several divisions were also held on Sunday.

Pan Yundong, Deputy Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the HKSAR, presents the prize to the winning team of the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China Celebration Trophy – China Tourism Group International Mixed Grand Championship. The event was jointly organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board  and the Hong Kong, China Dragon Boat Association, and was held in Victoria Harbour on the Tsim Sha Tsui East Waterfront on June 16,2024.
