SINGAPORE - Singapore will cease registering new diesel cars and taxis from 2025 to support its cleaner energy vision, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said Wednesday.

Meanwhile, diesel car owners can renew their certificate of entitlement but will be subject to higher road taxes to discourage renewal.

The restrictions will not apply to the import and registration of cars under the Classic Vehicle Scheme and Vintage Vehicle Scheme, LTA added.
