Shanghai Jiao Tong wins RoboMaster 2024, third feather in cap

The 23rd national university robotics competition - RoboMaster 2024, concluded in Shenzhen on August 11, 2024. The Jiao Long team from Shanghai Jiao Tong University secured the national championship, marking the third time teams from SJTU have ascended to the champion's podium since the event's inception.

The principle of the RoboMaster competition is the tactical team confrontation involving multifunctional robots, emphasizing the application of technologies and practical engineering skills, according to a report by Xinhua News Agency.

"We have specially designed a wheel-legged stationary robot that is capable of navigating rough terrain with varying heights and can also recover from tipping over," said Zhang Jiahao, a member of SJTU's Jiao Long team and an engineering mechanics student. "We won the championship thanks to everyone's dedication and hard work. I am most happy that all of our robots performed up to their planned potential."
