Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport has opened air passenger service to eight more foreign destinations this year, including Budapest, Mexico City, Cairo and Chitose.

The number of cities with air passenger links to Shenzhen has reached 43, reports Shenzhen Commercial Daily.

From January to July, customs at the airport processed 2.8 million passenger trips, marking a 160 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Zhuang Youzhan, a customs official at Bao’an airport, attributed the recent surge in passenger numbers to China’s policy of further relaxing entry rules for foreign visitors and the increase in overseas travel during the summer vacation.
