DPRK holds parliamentary meeting

PYONGYANG - The third Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) was held here on Sunday, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Monday.

DPRK's Supreme People's Assembly usually meets in April every year to address the state budget and cabinet reshuffling

The SPA deputies discussed and adopted three laws on recycling resources, tele-education and one pertaining to discharged officers. They also discussed the work of the cabinet and the state budget, the KCNA reported.

According to the report on the work of the Cabinet delivered at the session, last year, all sectors and units of the national economy carried out gross yearly industrial production estimated at 108 percent, and ministries, national institutions, city and county people's committees and industrial establishments over-fulfilled their national economic plans.

The state budgetary revenue was estimated to be at 101.5 percent last year, up 5.3 percent from the previous year.

At the session, by-elections of the SPA Presidium and new appointments to the cabinet, including for one vice-premier and three ministers, were held.

The SPA usually meets in April every year to address the state budget and cabinet reshuffling.
