YANGON - The death toll from a 7.9-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar has risen to 3,085, with 4,715 people injured and 341 reported missing, said the Information Team of the country's State Administration Council on Thursday.
Chinese rescuers are continuing search and rescue operations in hard-hit Mandalay, central Myanmar, following the deadly earthquake last week, and have so far rescued nine survivors from the rubble.
On Thursday afternoon, the second batch of emergency humanitarian aid supplies dispatched by the Chinese government arrived in Myanmar. The second batch of aid supplies includes 800 tents, 2,000 blankets, 3,000 boxes of biscuits, 2,000 boxes of mineral water and other urgently needed supplies.

The first batch of emergency humanitarian aid supplies dispatched by the Chinese government for earthquake disaster relief arrived in Myanmar on March 31.
Meanwhile, the country's Department of Meteorology and Hydrology said as of Thursday morning, Myanmar has experienced 66 aftershocks ranging from magnitudes 2.8 to 7.5.
State-run daily Myanma Alinn reported on Thursday that as of April 2, the powerful earthquake has caused widespread destruction, damaging homes, offices, schools, religious sites, hospitals, and farmland.

A total of 21,783 houses, 805 office buildings, 115 staff housing units, 1,041 school buildings, 921 monastery and nun residences, 1,690 pagodas, 312 other religious structures, 48 hospitals and clinics, and 45 acres of crops have been affected, it said.
Myanmar's government said it will allocate 500 billion kyats (about $238.09 million) for earthquake relief and rehabilitation efforts.
Myanmar's Nay Pyi Taw International Airport and Mandalay International Airport, which were damaged by the earthquake, are set to resume local travel services, the official Myanmar Radio and Television reported on Thursday.
The two airports had temporarily halted flights following the earthquake, it said.
According to the Department of Civil Aviation, Mandalay International Airport will reopen at 6 am local time on April 4, while Nay Pyi Taw International Airport will resume operations at 6 am local time on April 5, it added.
