Over 450 portraits of people showing smiling faces have brightened up the famous Canton Road of Hong Kong.

To celebrate the lifting of the city's mask-wearing requirement, the Harbour City shopping mall last month launched an art project titled “Inside Out: Harbour and the City”, inviting city dwellers, especially children growing up during the COVID-19 pandemic, to share the photos of their smiling faces.

Large-size black and white posters transformed from the selected photos are being displayed, starting Monday, at the Ocean Terminal Forecourt outside Harbour City, as well as on the exterior wall of the mall.

China Daily’s Andy Chong took these photos during a preview of the event.
