​US, UK urged not to politicize 3rd anniversary of HK's NSL

HONG KONG - The Office of the Commissioner of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Friday urged anti-China politicians in the United States and Britain to immediately cease the despicable behavior of politicizing the third anniversary of the implementation of the Hong Kong national security law.

Some American and British politicians have been trying to whitewash the malicious actions of anti-China disruptors who have harmed national security and sold out Hong Kong's interests, and their despicable plot to sow chaos in Hong Kong has been revealed for all to see, said the spokesperson

Recently, some members of the US Senate issued a statement and the lower house of the British Parliament held a debate on the 26th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland and the third anniversary of the implementation of the national security law in Hong Kong.

A spokesperson for the office said the US and British politicians willfully attacked and smeared the law, vehemently slandered the successful practice of "one country, two systems" in Hong Kong, openly made excuses for anti-China disruptors, and gravely trampled on the international law and basic norms governing international relations.

The office urges the relevant US and British politicians to abide by the principles of international law and basic norms governing international relations, immediately stop their political showmanship aimed at pandering to their respective domestic audiences, and immediately cease interfering in China's internal affairs including Hong Kong affairs under any pretext.
