People chase a duck during a competition celebrating a folk custom in Huangshan, Anhui province, on Thursday, which marked the start of guyu, or Grain Rain, the sixth of the 24 solar terms in the Chinese lunar calendar. Kaiyangmen, which literally means “opening the gate of rice seedlings”, is a folk custom that involves rituals and activities of praying for a good harvest in the coming year.
